Lu received her Masters of Performance diploma in violin performance at Longy School of Music and Masters of Arts in Violin Performance from Eastern Michigan University. She served as a concertmaster of the Symphony Orchestra of Eastern Michigan University in Fall 2004 and 2005, and was the Eastern Michigan University winner of the concerto competition in 2005. In 2006 she was a soloist performer with the Eastern Michigan Symphony Orchestra in Peace Hall.
She took the Suzuki teacher training courses, Every Child Can with Doris Leland Harrel, Suzuki Book 1 and 2 with Carol Sykes. In additional to the music, she also took the NEMTEC Montessori teacher training course on 2013 and 2014, in order to explore more how to meet the children’s inner needs.
She has over 15 years teaching experience working with both children and adults in private and group settings. She worked as a teaching assistant in Cambridge public school in Fall 2009 and taught violin in Keys for Kids, Lexington from 2007-2010. Many of her students participate in BYSO, NEC Prep orchestras, as well as Junior and Senior District orchestras. Her students are also winners of competitions in Boston and New York City areas.
